This older home in Champions area of Houston, has undergone remodels and repairs after hurricane damage. The owner called us looking for insulation before the weather was too hot. During our appointment, we thoroughly inspected the attic and provided the homeowner with a plan of action. We proceeded by vacuuming the existing batt insulation and removing old building materials from previous work.. because extra bidding materials and trash hold heat. That heat is then transferred to the ceiling long after the attic cools down in the evening. We repaired attic hot walls and added baffles to soffits to prevent insulation from entering the soffit area and stopping airflow. 13 inches of Jet Stream Insulation was added to the ceiling area. Recently the homeowner reported up to 50% more efficiency, as shown in the chart, for the past few months.
